Writable creates a playful writing surface for its users. The designer, Tianyu Xiao, asks, "How can a piece of furniture make people more communicative?" The chalk storage a beautiful detail. I do not recommend placing your hot cup of coffee on the flippable sections, though (see last image).

This would be great for a family with small children. The kids could have fun drawing on the furniture (hopefully limiting it to the chalkboards) and then the panels could be flipped for when company comes over. Great idea! Does it come in any other finishes?
