All The Things I Wish I Could Say To You by Sighn was originally an art installation but you can now buy the individual pieces for your own home. I think a cluster of sketches could look lovely in the right composition. MDF, signed and dated.

blown-fabric by nendo
Blown-Fabric by Nendo was created for Tokyo Fiber ’09 Senseware, an exhibition intended to convey the possibilities of new materials developed with Japanese synthetic fibre technology.
"Smash is a specialized long-fibre non-woven polyester that can be manipulated into different forms through hot press forming technology. Because it is thermoplastic, light and rip-proof, but glows beautifully when light passes through it, we wanted to create lighting fixtures in the style of vernacular Japanese chochin paper lanterns with it."

xs architecture vs xl furniture
Designed by graduate Worapong Manupipatpong, XS Architecture vs. XL Furniture challenges the line between architecture and furniture by forming hybrid structures with two levels and various ways to interact inside them.
I enjoy this project because I could see the pieces being used by clever companies as brainstorming spaces, or as a "treehouse" in the yard that both parent and child could use.

box house
Designed by Alan Chu and Cristiano Kato Architects, Box House is a redesign of a small home on the North coast of the State of São Paulo, Brazil. The now two story house has two main "openings" to the exterior that fully open - one on each floor. The result is gorgeous, especially at night with the ambient glow through both large windows.

wee see
Wee See is a series of DVDs designed to engage a baby's developing vision with bold, simple artwork. I love their website and if it is any implication to the quality of the DVDs it would be just as entertaining for parent and child!
"Part art installation, part pacifier, Wee See is a collection of black-and-white animations built from basic shapes to delight both child and parent. As vision develops slowly over the first months of life, Wee See provides surfaces of bold, well-defined artwork to engage your baby’s curious mind and bring the screen to vibrant life.
With great sensitivity to the delicate nature of the audience, Wee See’s animations move methodically slow and maintain an extraordinary simplicity yet remain endlessly inventive."

vegetal chair for vitra
The Vegetal Chair, designed by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec for Vitra, has me appreciating its "woven" styling (not actually interwoven), which reminds me of tree branches or the vascular system. I even enjoy the chair from the back; the structural ribs adding a pleasant dimensional detail.
From Bouroullec website: "The initial intuition was that of a chair which would sprout up like a plant. A vegetal chair, its branches gently curving to form the seat and back. "

memo clock by the haki
I have an "out of sight, out of mind" memory. Despite iCals and planners - which I forget to look at - my memory is best jogged by sticky notes and notes written on the back of my hand. However, sticky notes can be wasteful, which is why I am so drawn to this Memo Clock by The Haki. A quick reminder in the morning, and a place to jot last-minute reminders just before bed! Then wipe it clean for a fresh start, or a minimal bedside clock.

Feral Houses by Sweet Juniper captures the reversal of houses in Detroit from a "domesticated" to a "feral" (wild) state. Houses stand as only archetypes of their original forms, engulfed by and swelling with foliage. I especially like the second story tree in the last image.
